Article 149155 of comp.os.vms: The next release (2.7-4) of the VMS port of NCSA Mosaic is now available via anonymous ftp on wvnvms.wvnet.edu as a zip file (MOSAIC2_7-4.ZIP) in [.MOSAIC]. Once it is unzipped, information on how to build it is in README.VMS-2_7-4. The build requires a C compiler (either DEC C or VAX C) and supports UCX, MultiNet and SOCKETSHR/NETLIB. Although the build supports all versions of Motif from 1.1 forward, the recommended versions of Motif are 1.2-3 with ECO kit 7 and 1.2-4. The file README.BUGS in the anonymous ftp area contains the latest information on any bugs and bug fixes for this release; please check it before reporting problems. Please note that this port of Mosaic is a completely separate effort from any porting work being done by Digital and is not related to the port provided as part of DECwindows Motif. NCSA is actively involved in this port and is currently in the process of including the VMS changes in the base NCSA Mosaic code. This release is, for the most part, bug for bug compatible with NCSA Mosaic V2.7b4. In particular, the HTML table support works exactly as it does in the official NCSA Mosaic 2.7b4 release (i.e. it is badly broken). Table support is disabled by default but can be enabled on the fly with the "Table Support" option setting. The current NCSA implementation schedule calls for working table support to be provided by this October. The most visible improvements in this release are support for background color and images, and graphical icons.
