SANITY_CHECK ------------ SANITY_CHECK is a handy tool to help system managers detect situations on their VMS system that may require immediate attention. The program runs in the background as a detached process and wakes up periodically (30 minutes by default, configurable via a logical name) to perform a "sanity check" on the system. o Checks to make sure that a pre-specified list of processes are all still running on the system. For each missing process, a MAIL message is sent to an appropriate user (SYSTEM by default). o Checks to make sure that a pre-specified set of self-perpetuating batch jobs are queued up as they should be. For each missing batch job, a MAIL message is sent to an appropriate user (SYSTEM by default). o Checks a list of pre-specified print queues to see if they are operating normally. For each potentially hosed-up queue, a MAIL message is sent to an appropriate user (SYSTEM by default). See INSTALL.DOC for more information.
