The presenters are two folks from our group, one is the manager of the Base OS and the other person is the Engineer who was the project leader for the Blades project for VMS. This will be excellent and I promise you it will be worth your time. There are not a lot of space left since we have been broadcasting this via the website and emails for over a month. The HP group sponsering this is not familiar with the VMS community so they are a little suprised with the amount of people that are registered. Then she told me, "well they will drop out any way and probably will not ask any questions", I told her that the VMS people I know don't usually quit and usually always ask a lot of questions (so plan the time) This web site is on the VMS page and will connect you. http://h71000.www7.hp.com/new/events.html Warm Regards, Sue ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Nov 2007 22:19:28 -0500 From: JF Mezei Subject: OT: Data centre for the Church of Flying Spaghetti Monster Message-ID: <13ce$473faf45$cef8887a$1806@TEKSAVVY.COM> Since I learned about the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster here on cov, I figured it was fitting to show you a picture of their data centre. http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r19456050- Is there a networking equivalent to programming edicts to never use "GOTO" starement to force structured programming ? ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Nov 2007 23:49:25 -0500 From: "Richard B. The URL is correct. The problem is that many browsers may not include the dash at the end in the URL. (happened to me when I tried it.) So add the dash at the end if it isn't copied over and you get to see the FSM data centre ! ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Nov 2007 15:25:46 -0500 From: "Richard B. Look for a new contract! Your alternative is to write a web interface for the application. If you're fluent in HTML, Javascript, and just general web interfacing you could probably do what he wants but I suspect that the bill would be far more than the client wants or is able to pay!!!!!! Since the user could almost certainly get PC software that will handle X windows for $400-$600 that's probably the way to go. If he needs fifty or a hundred copies of the PC software, that could get a little expensive and it might actually be worth writing a web interface. ------------------------------ End of INFO-VAX 2007.631 ************************
