02-May-2004 DBS-BUILD_LIBRARIES This package contains the results of building the DBS-SYSRTL package on the three architectures supported by VMS. The logical DBSLIBRARY should be defined to point to a directory that will contain the libraries (it can be the same directory into which this package was unzipped). This logical is also used in lots of places by the build procedures for other packages and various bits of DCL. If you choose to not put DBSSYSRTL.EXE and .OLB into SYS$LIBRARY you will need to define DBSSYSRTL to be DBSLIBRARY:DBSSYSRTL so that things are found when required. If you wish to use any of these routines in your code you can link using either the SYS_OBJECTS object library or the DBSSYSRTL.OLB image library. Contained herein: AAAREADME.1ST What you is reading. DBSSYSRTL.arch_EXE This is the shareable image. DBSSYSRTL.arch_OLB This the shareable image library. DBSSYSRTL.arch_MAP The map generated by the build. SYS_OBJECTS.arch_OLB The library containing the objects used to build that which is above. SYS_MACROS.MLB Macros used by lots of the Macro code. COPY_DBSSYSRTL.COM A procedure that will copy the .arch_* files into DBSLIBRARY and remove the "arch". (The last two files above are also included in DBS-SYSRTL.) "arch" is one of VAX, ALPHA or IPF. The following VMS and compiler versions were used: VAX Alpha Itanium VMS 7.3 7.3-2 8.1 BASIC 3.9-000 1.5 T1.6-000 C 6.4-005 6.5-001 T7.0-002 MACRO 5.4-3 4.1-18 T1.0-77 NOTE: Because the Itanium files were generated on V8.1 and there being NO Teco available on that version, the routine TECO_EDIT_THING will obviously not work. Therefore, do not attempt to use this routine until a build has been done on a version that includes Teco. A number of other DBS packages make use of this routine so look out. Any bug reports (or fixes), comments, suggestions etc. should be directed to me at the address below.
